Planning a Fundraiser:

  1. 1. Pick a campaign leader. Choose a fundraising sponsor that will stay motivated throughout the whole fundraising campaign. Your leader should be organized and have good communication skills to keep the organization informed and excited about the fundraiser.
  2. 2. Establish a fundraising goal. Once you determine how much money you need to raise, you can determine which products to sell and how many cases you’ll need to order.
  3. 3. Promote your event. Promote the campaign in your community with printed signs posted around the neighborhood and in grocery stores. For a larger campaign, try to solicit free advertising in newspapers, radio or TV. Purchase an ad in the community newspaper, or post an announcement in your group’s newsletter or church bulletin.
  4. 4. Sell, sell, sell! Sell the chocolate bars to your neighbors, have the parents take the boxes of chocolate to work to sell, or even set up shop in front of a local grocery store on a weekend to get members of the community to support your cause!
  5. 5. Collect the money. Set a deadline and communicate it to all participants. Have the money returned to the campaign leader by the deadline.
  6. 6. Provide sellers with prizes! Fundraising can be an educational and rewarding experience for everyone. Your participants will feel the pride of accomplishing the goals through teamwork!
